Job description
Seeking a hands-on Data Center Technician to support day-to-day infrastructure operations, hardware break/fix, physical connectivity, monitoring, and documentation within designated data center facilities. This role focuses strictly on operational execution. Power, cooling, and environmental systems remain under Customer/facilities responsibility.
Core Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Operations
–Rack, stack, cable, and connect servers, storage, and network devices per approved designs.
–Perform patching/re-patching within racks and patch panels following labeling standards.
–Support approved moves/adds/changes within existing rack environments.
Hardware Support
–Perform L1/L2 troubleshooting for servers, storage, and network appliances.
–Replace field-replaceable units (disks, PSUs, NICs, fans, etc.).
–Coordinate with OEMs for break/fix and RMA processing.
–Execute preventative maintenance and approved firmware/hardware upgrades.
Network & Connectivity
–Support cross-connects and physical connectivity per network team designs.
–Assist with switch installation and perform basic link validation.
–Conduct fiber/copper handling, cleaning, labeling verification, and basic continuity checks.
Monitoring & Incident Response
–Respond to alerts and tickets within defined SLAs/OLAs.
–Perform on-site remediation and assist in RCA activities.
Change, Access & Compliance
–Execute approved change requests during maintenance windows.
–Enforce physical access control and escort visitors/vendors.
–Follow safety, PPE, ESD, and operational compliance standards.
Documentation
–Maintain accurate asset records within CMDB/DCIM systems.
–Update rack elevations and patch documentation.
–Provide activity input for monthly reporting/KPIs.
Requirements
3+ years of data center or infrastructure operations experience.
–Hands-on experience with server, storage, and network hardware installation.
–Knowledge of structured cabling standards and patching practices.
–Experience with OEM break/fix coordination and RMAs.
–Familiarity with CMDB/DCIM tools.
–Ability to operate within SLA-driven environments.
–Strong documentation and communication skills.
–Enterprise data center experience (preferred).

Pay Rate = $23 w2 per hour + benefits
