Building Control Technical Support Officer

• Act as the first point of contact for Building Control enquiries from customers and stakeholders.
• Process Building Regulation applications accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and update Building Control records and databases, ensuring all information is accurate and compliant with data protection requirements.
• Provide administrative and technical support to Building Control Surveyors.
• Respond to customer enquiries by telephone, email, and in person, resolving issues where appropriate or escalating when necessary.
• Monitor application progress and ensure work is completed within agreed service standards.
• Support the continuous improvement of Building Control processes and procedures.
• Assist with preparing reports, correspondence, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with Building Regulations, relevant legislation, and organisational policies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a high-quality Building Control service.

• Previous experience in a Building Control, Planning, Technical Support, or Administrative role.
• Good understanding of Building Control processes and Building Regulations is desirable.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong administrative and organisational abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience using databases and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
• A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) or relevant experience.
• Evidence of continuing professional development is desirable., * Building Control, Planning, Technical Support or similar: 1 year (required)
