Job description
Gwinnett County’s Department of Water Resources is currently hiring a part-time information and outreach associate to coordinate, facilitate, and support public educational workshops and outreach events., + Assist with event planning including determining type of event, location, set-up, activities, entertainment, and refreshments

Utilize and operate various computer programs and databases to organize outreach commitments and calendars, and to track program operations and outcomes.

Perform other duties of a similar nature or level
Requirements

Strong work or educational background and/or understanding of public education, communications, and public relations

Proactive, detail-oriented planning experience
-
Ability to communicate with stakeholders for event coordination

Ability to quickly learn, adapt, and confidently deliver new material

Well organized and dependable

Will represent Gwinnett County DWR with professionalism and courtesy
-
Comfort with public speaking, + Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Education, Public Relations, or related field

Available at least three weekdays per week between the hours of 8:00am and 3:00pm

Willingness to work evenings and Saturdays with advanced notice on a regular basis

A valid driver’s license and the ability to meet requirements to operate a Gwinnett County vehicle

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.

Moderate physical activity including stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and the ability to lift 30 pounds Preferred Qualifications, Do you have a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Education, or Public Relations, or a related field?, If yes, please list your degree program. Benefits & conditions
This is a part-time position with a maximum of 1,560 hours per year and is not eligible for paid holidays, leave, or benefits., $25.00 per hour, up to 29 hours per week (not to exceed 1,560 hours per year). A flexible schedule will be expected with a typical work week including hours between Monday and Friday, but frequent evenings and weekend days to support outreach efforts will be added.
