In this project-based remote role, you will take raw video clips and transform them into sleek, high-performing videos tailored for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. You will focus on strong opening hooks, tight pacing, crisp audio, and platform-native visuals to maximize viewer engagement. Core Responsibilities Edit Short-Form Assets: Trim, edit, and sequence raw footage into engaging, fully polished 1-minute video clips. Optimize for Retention: Apply fast-paced editing techniques, pattern interrupts, smooth transitions, and visual hooks within the first 3 seconds. Add On-Screen Elements: Integrate dynamic kinetic captions, animated text overlays, sound effects (SFX), lower thirds, and trending audio tracks. Audio & Visual Cleanup: Perform basic color correction, audio leveling, and background noise removal for a crisp finish. Maintain Platform Trends: Adapt editing styles to align with current algorithm trends, viral formats, and brand guidelines. Short-Form Portfolio: A strong portfolio or sample reel demonstrating expertise in editing TikToks, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. Editing Software: Proficiency in editing tools such as CapCut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Pacing & Social Intuition: A strong eye for visual pacing, timing, hook creation, and what keeps social media audiences watching. Technical Setup: Access to a reliable, high-performance editing software setup and high-speed internet for quick file delivery. Reliability: Strong communication skills, ability to take constructive feedback, and commitment to hitting quick turnaround deadlines. Preferred Skills Basic motion graphics and caption styling experience. Knowledge of trending audio, memes, and cultural references across major video platforms.
