Job description
This position supports a mission-critical federal environment operating middleware, enterprise service bus (ESB) layers, and core Java applications., As a Production Support Engineer, you will provide 24x7 application-level support for middleware, ESB, and Java business applications, meeting strict priority-based SLAs., * 24x7 Operations: Troubleshoot and resolve application incidents across Java services, webMethods components, and middleware integrations.
- SLA Execution: Adhere to strict response windows, including a 4-hour restoration target for Priority 1 incidents.
- ServiceNow & Monitoring: Manage tickets in ServiceNow and perform log/dashboard analysis using AppDynamics and ELK.
- Maintenance & Patching: Support release implementation, perform post-deployment checks, and implement vulnerability remediation fixes.
- RCA & Runbooks: Provide root cause analysis inputs and update operational runbooks.
Requirements
- Experience:
- At least 5 years of application production support / O&M experience in 24x7 environments.
- At least 2 years supporting Java-based and/or middleware (ESB) production applications.
- Technical Expertise:
- ServiceNow incident/request management.
- Java application troubleshooting and ESB concepts (webMethods exposure is a plus).
- AppDynamics, ELK stack, and log review techniques.
- OpenShift or Kubernetes operational concepts.
- Clearance & Security:
- Must possess U.S. work authorization.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal Moderate Risk Public Trust (MBI level) background investigation.

- On-Call Requirement: Participation in a structured 24x7 on-call rotation (nights, weekends, peak periods).
