Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Programmer to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to produce high-quality cabinetry components efficiently and accurately. Your expertise in CAD/CAM software, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and CNC machining will be essential in ensuring seamless production workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative cabinetry solutions while working with state-of-the-art machinery and tools., * Develop and write CNC programs for various cabinet components using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, AlphaCam, and Cabinet Vision
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure precise machining processes.
- Set up and operate CNC machinery including CNC lathes, milling machines (including 5-axis CNC machines), and CNC tooling systems.
- Program CNC machines, ensuring optimal tool paths and machining parameters for metal and wood cabinetry parts.
- Conduct precision measurements using bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other measurement instruments to verify part accuracy.
- Optimize manufacturing processes through lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
- Troubleshoot machining issues related to geometry, tooling, or programming errors; adjust programs as needed for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret blueprints and schematics accurately while adhering to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, tooling specifications, and quality control records.
- Ensure safety standards are followed during machine setup and operation.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code for various CNC machines including Fanuc controllers.
- Extensive experience with CAD software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA for designing and modifying cabinet components.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and mechanical blueprint analysis.
- Knowledge of CAM software for generating machining toolpaths for CNC milling machines and lathes.
- Ability to operate precision measurement instruments such as bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining tools setup, geometry calculations, tooling selection, and schematics interpretation.
- Experience working with 3 and 5-axis CNC machines for complex cabinet components requiring intricate machining operations.
- Strong math skills necessary for programming calculations involving measurements and tolerances.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to streamline production workflows effectively.
- Familiarity with engineering standards including GD&T for ensuring parts meet specifications.
