Job description
We’re looking for a NOC Analyst Tier 1 responsible for continuous monitoring of network infrastructure health, availability, and performance. This role is the first responder for network-based alerts and outages, handling initial triage and escalation to NOC Tier 2 for issues beyond Tier 1 resolution scope., * Monitor network monitoring dashboards for availability, performance, interface status, bandwidth utilization
- Serve as the initial triage for all incoming customer calls, alerts, emails, and tickets using established playbooks to categorize, prioritize, and route
- Acknowledge and triage all network alerts within SLA
- Perform initial issue isolation and troubleshooting steps to identify affected devices, interfaces, and circuits
- Create detailed tickets for all events including initial diagnosis with detailed documentation and troubleshooting steps taken.
- Escalate to NOC Tier 2 for issues beyond T1 scope
- Execute standard T1 playbooks such as device reboots, port reset, BGP session resets per approved procedures
- Maintain the NOC Event log for all events during the shift
- Participate briefings and training sessions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field. In lieu of degree, experience in a NOC, SOC, IT security, or network operations role
- One of the following certifications, equivalent or better: Sec+, Net+, CCNA; or the ability to obtain the certification within 60 days.
- Basic understanding of networking and security concepts
- Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays on rotating shift schedule
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Secret clearance preferred but not required
- Basic understanding of network monitoring systems (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, or equivalent)
- Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, or equivalent)
