Job description

The purpose of the Cloud Infrastructure Analyst role is to support the management, monitoring, maintenance, and continual improvement of cloud and hybrid infrastructure platforms.

Reporting to the Service & Infrastructure Manager, the role will support operational service delivery across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Equinix-hosted infrastructure, and associated business-critical systems and services. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring infrastructure platforms remain secure, resilient, stable, and operationally effective.

The role requires a practical and hands-on individual with experience supporting cloud and infrastructure environments, operational service management activities, system monitoring, incident resolution, supplier coordination, and technical implementations.

The Cloud Infrastructure Analyst will also support release deployments, disaster recovery activities, infrastructure improvements, operational security monitoring, and service transition activities across ITSO’s technical estate., * Support and administer Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and associated hybrid infrastructure platforms

  • Monitor infrastructure platforms, services, system health, alerts, and operational performance
  • Support the management and maintenance of Equinix-hosted infrastructure, including connectivity to OCI via Oracle FastConnect
  • Assist with infrastructure deployments, upgrades, patching, and operational changes
  • Support release testing, deployment, and environment management activities across Test, Pre-Production, and Production environments
  • Investigate and resolve infrastructure, platform, and operational incidents and service requests
  • Support backup, resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity activities
  • Assist with operational security monitoring, access management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance activities using native platform tooling
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers, hosting providers, and technical vendors to support operational service delivery
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, reports, and service records
  • Support infrastructure modernisation and continual service improvement initiatives
  • Assist internal and external users and stakeholders with infrastructure-related support and technical issues
  • Support critical and major incident recovery activities to restore normal service operation as quickly as possible, * ITSO staff and internal stakeholders
  • HOPS suppliers and ITSO members
  • Third-party hosting providers and suppliers
  • Infrastructure, cloud, and managed service vendors
  • External technical and operational partners

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Requirements

The candidate should possess strong technical troubleshooting skills, good communication and organisational abilities, and a proactive approach to operational support and continual service improvement., * Experience supporting cloud infrastructure platforms and hybrid hosting environments

  • Good understanding of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or equivalent cloud technologies
  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including VPNs, routing, firewalls, and secure connectivity
  • Experience monitoring infrastructure platforms and responding to operational alerts and incidents
  • Experience supporting infrastructure services, deployments, and operational changes
  • Understanding of infrastructure resilience, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers and managed service providers
  • Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritise operational workloads effectively
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and continual improvement

Skills, knowledge and experience - DESIRABLE

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL processes
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent
  • Relevant cloud or infrastructure certification(s)
  • A full UK driving licence would be advantageous, as the role involves regular travel to data centres and other sites.
