Job description
Coast Techs Consulting is a San Diego-based IT managed service provider supporting nonprofits and small to mid-sized businesses. We’re looking for a skilled network administrator to bring on for projects as needed. This is not a full-time role. We engage contractors on a per-project basis as client needs come up.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Deploying, configuring, and managing firewalls (rules, VPNs, security policies, firmware updates)
- Setting up and optimizing wireless access points and wireless networks (site surveys, coverage planning, troubleshooting)
- Working with our internal team to scope and deliver network projects for a variety of clients
- Documenting configurations and providing clear handoff notes
Requirements
Do you have experience in Wireless networking?, * Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls (SonicWall, Fortinet, Meraki, or similar)
- Proven experience deploying and managing wireless access points in business environments
- Comfortable working independently and jumping into unfamiliar client environments
- Solid understanding of VLANs, DHCP, DNS, routing, and general network fundamentals
- Based in San Diego and available for on-site work when projects require it
- Good communication skills and the ability to document your work clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting nonprofit or SMB clients
- Familiarity with managed service provider (MSP) workflows
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, Network+, vendor-specific certs)

Pay: $80.00 - $130.00 per hour
