Job description
As a Roadway Programs Technician 2 with the Department of Transportation, you will play an important part in keeping county roadway operations organized and effective. You will work with accident information, field inspections, inventory checks, and safety programs that support the entire maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone who likes variety and enjoys helping others stay informed and prepared. Your work will support safe and reliable travel for communities across the region., This position provides technical, field, and administrative support for roadway programs, data gathering, safety coordination, and county maintenance activities. Your work helps ensure that roadway conditions, safety efforts, and program records are up to date and accurate for county operations. As a Roadway Programs Technician 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Accident Report Coordination: Review accident information, complete field views, gather data, and coordinate details with police, district staff and management
- Damage And Claims Processing: Inspect damage to state property, determine repair needs, and input information into the Plant Maintenance System for billing purposes
- Field And Contractor Reviews: Visit work sites, inspect contractor work, compare progress to schedules, and verify invoices for accuracy
- Inventory And Snow Planning: Check stockpile materials, maintain winter service inventories, and compile snow plan details for county operations
- Program And Training Support: Assist with environmental programs, track certifications in the LSO system, schedule training, and support SEMP documentation
- Budget And Planning Assistance: Prepare expenditure reports, monitor purchase documents, and support development of annual and long range work plans

Requirements
- One year as a Roadway Programs Technician 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment, and an Associate’s Degree in the field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or closely related program; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Benefits & conditions
$46,827.00 - $70,592.00 Annually dental insurance, vision insurance, parental leave, vacation time, paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, retirement plan, + Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Overtime and schedule changes may be required during weather events
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
