Data Modeler - Strategic Network Design

As a Modeler on our Strategic Network Design team, you’ll help shape the future of Best Buy’s supply chain by turning complex business questions into data-driven insights. You’ll build and refine models that help leaders evaluate tradeoffs across cost, speed, capacity, inventory placement and customer experience before decisions are made in the real world. This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days at our corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota, and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. What you’ll do Build and maintain supply chain optimization and scenario-planning modelsTranslate business questions into structured analytical and modeling solutionsEvaluate network scenarios and identify tradeoffs across cost, service and capacityValidate model outputs, assumptions, and business rules to ensure accuracyCommunicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical partnersPartner with data scientists, engineers and business teams to improve planning capabilities

Bachelor’s degree in STEM, analytics, supply chain or related field2 years of experience in data science, analytics, operations research or a similar quantitative roleExperience using tools such as SQL, Python, R or ExcelExperience working with large and complex datasetsStrong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, Master’s degree in a related fieldExperience in supply chain analytics, logistics, network design or transportation modelingKnowledge of optimization, simulation or operations research methodsExperience building mathematical models or decision-support toolsFamiliarity with Python analytics libraries, Power BI, Tableau, or supply chain modeling platforms
