Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to support a government-focused organization dedicated to securing and modernizing enterprise network infrastructure. This position is onsite in Washington, DC. The Senior Network Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain advanced network security architectures with a focus on Cisco and Juniper technologies while supporting critical government operations. Join a mission-driven team responsible for protecting complex environments through cutting-edge network security solutions., * Design, implement, and optimize firewall and IPS rule sets to maintain enterprise security standards.

  • Monitor, maintain, and improve the performance and health of firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, and network security infrastructure.
  • Lead enterprise network security initiatives, including Cisco ASA to Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) migrations.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, security procedures, and operational standards.
  • Research, evaluate, test, and deploy new security technologies while providing expert guidance to network engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of IT experience required; internships, capstones, and other relevant experience may be considered toward overall experience requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cisco Firepower, Cisco 802.1X deployments, DMVPN, and/or Juniper ADVPN. Candidates should possess experience in at least 3-4 of these key technical areas.
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts, firewall administration, IPS technologies, and routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.
  • Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Candidates may qualify with an Associate degree and additional relevant experience, or 10+ years of experience combined with multiple industry certifications.
  • Active Top Secret (TS) Security Clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI eligibility.

Benefits & conditions

  • Salary Range: $150,000 - $155,000 depending on experience
