Top Secret Network Security Engineer

Plan, coordinate, and implement enterprise-level information security across network environments.

Design optimized firewall and intrusion prevention system (IPS) rule structures and ensure adherence to security standards.

Monitor and maintain the health and performance of firewall and IPS systems, recommending improvements where necessary.

Research, evaluate, design, test, and implement new network security technologies.

Develop and maintain technical documentation, including security procedures and complex network schematics.

Provide support and guidance to network engineering teams on security best practices.

Analyze technical and business requirements to determine efficient and secure solutions.

10+ years of IT experience (internships, capstones, and additional experience may be considered toward total experience).

Active Top Secret clearance required (SCI eligibility required).

Strong hands-on experience with at least 3-4 of the following technologies:

Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) (upgrade, licensing, deployment)

Cisco Firepower (maintenance, upgrade, deployment)

Cisco ASA to Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) migrations

Cisco 802.1X deployments

DMVPN design and deployment (CNSSP-15 compliant)

Juniper ADVPN

Strong understanding of routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP.

Experience designing and maintaining secure enterprise network infrastructures.

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; equivalent experience or certifications may substitute.

CCNP Security or CCNP Enterprise certifications strongly preferred; CCDP preferred.

Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to operate independently in a secure environment.

Salary range: $130,000 - $150,000
