Job description

MPA Recruitment, on behalf of our client, is recruiting a Digital Systems Manager to join the Digital Team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT professional to manage and develop critical line of business systems, ensuring the delivery of reliable, secure and customer-focused digital services. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise, lead system improvements, support ICT projects and work closely with stakeholders to deliver innovative technology solutions across the organisation., Digital Systems & Service Management

  • Manage and support a range of Line of Business (LOB) systems, applications and IT services.
  • Lead system upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting and change management activities.
  • Monitor system performance, availability and security to ensure business continuity.
  • Manage service requests and incidents, ensuring service level agreements are achieved.

Project & Business Improvement

  • Lead and support digital projects, system implementations and service enhancements.
  • Analyse business requirements and develop innovative technology solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases, procurement documentation and technical specifications.
  • Contribute to strategic digital transformation and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Stakeholder & Customer Support

  • Provide expert technical advice and guidance to managers, staff and external suppliers.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party providers.
  • Deliver user training and develop supporting guidance and operational documentation.

Governance & Team Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with IT governance, information security, procurement and organisational policies.
  • Support audits, risk management and business continuity planning.
  • Supervise and mentor IT staff, supporting their development and performance.
  • Contribute to the development of IT strategies, policies and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in ICT, Systems Development, Computing or a related discipline and at least 2 years’ experience in a Systems Manager role, · HND in ICT, Systems Development, Computing or a related discipline and at least 2 years’ experience in a Systems Manager role.

· Experience managing, maintaining and upgrading IT systems and resolving complex technical issues.

· Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.

· Strong communication and customer service skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a busy IT environment.

· Full UK driving licence or access to suitable transport.

Desirable

  • Experience working within Local Government or the Public Sector.
