Applications Contract Engineer (Database Developer)

We are seeking an experienced Applications Contract Engineer / Database Developer to support a mission-critical defense application. This role focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and developing features within an existing database environment rather than designing a database from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Sybase, along with application development skills in C++ and Java., * Develop, maintain, and enhance applications that interface with existing databases.

• Work within an established Sybase database environment and support migration or development efforts involving MariaDB.
• Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions.
• Develop and maintain software using C++ and Java.
• Troubleshoot application and database issues and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with software engineers, database administrators, and systems engineers to deliver new capabilities.
• Support software integration, testing, and deployment activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow secure software development practices.

• Active DoD Security Clearance (required).
• Strong experience working with Sybase databases (must-have).
• Experience developing applications in C++.
• Experience developing applications in Java.
• Experience working with existing relational database architectures and modifying established database systems.
• Strong SQL development and database troubleshooting skills.
