Job description
- Lead end-to-end Oracle-to-Oracle database migration, upgrade, and consolidation projects.
- Plan and execute database migrations with minimal downtime.
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c/21c).
- Perform database cloning, refresh, patching, upgrades, backup, and recovery activities.
- Administer Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, and Data Pump.
- Monitor and optimize database performance, SQL execution plans, indexing, and resource utilization.
- Develop automation scripts for database provisioning, health checks, backup, monitoring, and deployment.
- Work with cloud infrastructure teams to deploy and manage Oracle databases on AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support migration and production environments.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide root cause analysis.
- Prepare migration documentation, SOPs, and operational runbooks.
- Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership.
Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Database Lead with expertise in Oracle Database Administration, Oracle-to-Oracle database migration, and automation/scripting. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) and be capable of leading enterprise database migration and modernization initiatives., * 8 12 years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- Strong experience in Oracle-to-Oracle database migration and version upgrades.
- Expertise in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Data Pump, and GoldenGate.
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud platform:
- AWS
- Microsoft Azure
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Strong Shell scripting (Bash/Korn) and experience with Python or Perl for database automation.
- Expertise in Oracle performance tuning, SQL optimization, indexing, and partitioning.
- Experience with Linux/Unix administration.
- Strong knowledge of backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Ansible).
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), CloudWatch, or Azure Monitor., Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is preferred.
