Job description

Insight Global is seeking a BMS Technician / BMS Consultant to support critical infrastructure and startup activities within a rapidly growing manufacturing environment in Clayton, NC. This individual will act as a technical bridge between the Utilities and IT organizations, helping bring building and facility management systems online while ensuring reliable communication between industrial control systems and network infrastructure.This person must be comfortable working both in the field and within server/network environments, supporting the integration of thousands of IP-enabled assets across the site., * Work with local & global project team to ensure design of process is compliant with local & global standards

  • Develop interface agreements & align requirements with equipment vendors
  • Schedule & execute plans in coordination with project schedules
  • Assist with managing project budget based on timely task execution
  • Maintain automation standards and specifications
  • Own self training assignments in a timely manner
  • Train relevant resources as SME in BMS/FMS
  • Collaborate adequately with project team resources to drive project execution
  • Operate within compliance with a quality mindset that focuses on risk management & mitigation
  • Adhere to change management standards
  • Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
  • Other accountabilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Networking, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field; OR equivalent technical certifications and industry experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Building Management Systems (BMS), Facilities Management Systems (FMS), or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Strong understanding of BACnet and Modbus communication protocols.
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial networks and connected control systems.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet networking fundamentals, IP addressing, switches, ports, cabling, and fiber infrastructure.
  • Experience working with server racks, IT punch-downs, network connections, and switchboard configurations.
  • Ability to interpret system architecture diagrams and network layouts.
  • Comfortable spending significant time in manufacturing, utility, and server room environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills with both operational and IT stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Siemens Desigo building management systems.
  • Experience with Schneider Electric automation or building controls platforms.
  • Experience with Dickson wireless monitoring systems.
  • Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, medical device, or regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Greenfield startup, commissioning, qualification, or facility expansion experience.
  • Understanding of OT/IT convergence within industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to HVAC controls, utility systems, process monitoring systems, or environmental monitoring systems
