Network Administrator

Experteer Overview In this role you will help install, configure, and operate enterprise network infrastructure in a security-conscious DoD environment. You will work on routing, switching, and SSR/128 Technology platforms to support backbone and edge networks. Collaborating with senior engineers and security personnel, you’ll troubleshoot issues, apply updates, and maintain accurate network documentation. The position offers hands-on growth in a mission-driven setting at Langley AFB with on-site responsibilities and structured change management. Compensation / Benefits * Configure, deploy, and manage routers, switches, and SSR appliances across enterprise and edge networks * Design and implement routing policies and traffic steering on SSR/128 Technology platforms * Administer LAN switching (VLANs, STP, trunking, port security) on Juniper EX Series/Cisco Catalyst * Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) across WAN and data centers * Monitor network health and assist in root-cause analysis; escalate anomalies * Maintain firewall rules, ACLs, IPsec VPNs, and other security controls * Perform software/firmware upgrades and lifecycle maintenance per change management * Maintain network diagrams, inventories, and SOPs * Coordinate with senior engineers, admins, and security to resolve incidents * Participate in on-call rotation and assist during outages Tasks * Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience or Master’s with 2+ years of experience (additional years in lieu of degree) * Active DoD TS/SCI clearance * DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification at IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ CE) or higher * Strong understanding of OSI, TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing (BGP, OSPF, static) and WAN technologies * Hands-on LAN switching experience on Juniper EX Series or Cisco Catalyst (VLANs, STP, trunking) * Analytical mindset with good written/verbal communication; able to work in a supervised, team-based environment Key requirements *
