Job description
Experteer Overview As a Network Engineer supporting Enterprise Transport Management at the Pentagon, you design, deploy, and sustain high-availability DoD networks. You work within a security-first culture to optimize transport, routing, and firewall functions across multi-vendor environments. You will mentor teammates, own complex incidents, and drive improvements in network health and lifecycle management. This role offers impact at a national mission scale and opportunities to influence secure, resilient IT infrastructure. Compensation / Benefits * Design, plan, configure, and implement LAN/WAN networks, routing, switching, and firewalls * Deploy and maintain routers, switches, VPN concentrators, remote access systems, and network servers * Serve as senior escalation point (Tier 3+) for complex transport, optical, crypto, and routing/switching issues * Monitor network health, performance, and capacity; perform proactive maintenance and upgrades * Maintain network documentation, SOPs, topologies, and backup/recovery capabilities * Evaluate and integrate new communications technologies * Lead or mentor less-experienced network personnel * Utilize ITSM ticketing systems for workflow management and detailed technical documentation * Support DoD-specific network environments and comply with security baselines and policies * Perform lifecycle management including patching, firmware, and hardware refreshes Tasks * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance * IAT Level II certification * One of: Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP) * 5+ years of network administration experience * Bachelorās Degree in a related field, OR equivalent work experience * Hands-on Aruba networking experience * Strong knowledge of routing protocols and L3 configurations Key requirements * health and dental plans * vision plan * 401(k) with company match * paid time off including vacation, sick, personal time * flexible work weeks where possible * military-friendly workplace
