Microsoft Purview and Data Governance Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview As a Senior Engineering Management Specialist on Deloitte’s Cyber team, you will guide the design and implementation of Microsoft Purview to enable data governance, information protection, and regulatory compliance across client environments. You will work on large-scale transformation projects, from assessment to optimization, partnering with clients and cross-functional teams. You help shape data governance strategies, lifecycle management, and operating models to strengthen security and reduce risk. This role offers hands-on execution and advisory impact in a dynamic consulting setting. Compensation / Benefits * Assess client data governance and compliance environments and develop recommendations for Microsoft Purview capabilities (Data Loss Prevention, Compliance Manager, eDiscovery, Information Protection) * Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions to support data classification, labeling, retention, investigation, and governance requirements * Perform technical health checks, discovery, and remediation activities for Purview deployments (audit, privileged access, policy reviews) * Support proof of concept, deployment, integration, and post-implementation activities for Purview and related Microsoft security tools * Advise clients on data governance strategy, lifecycle management, compliance monitoring, and operating model improvements to strengthen security posture Tasks * 4+ years of experience in technical consulting, problem-solving, solution architecture or design for Microsoft Purview or data governance technologies * 4+ years hands-on experience implementing or operating Microsoft Purview capabilities (classification, labeling, protection, eDiscovery, DLP, compliance reporting) * 4+ years experience designing and implementing data governance or compliance controls in Microsoft environments (including integrations) * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant fields * Willingness to travel up to 50% on average Key requirements *
