Microsoft Purview and Data Governance Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this Senior Engineering Management Specialist role within Deloitte’s Cyber team, you help clients design and implement Microsoft Purview capabilities to advance data governance, information protection, and regulatory compliance. You work on large-scale transformation initiatives across assessment, design, implementation, and optimization, partnering with clients to strengthen security posture and reduce risk. This position blends hands-on Purview work with advisory guidance on governance strategy and operating models. You will engage cross-functionally to deliver measurable improvements in data governance and compliance outcomes. Compensation / Benefits * Assess client data governance and compliance environments and develop recommendations for Microsoft Purview capabilities (Data Loss Prevention, Compliance Manager, eDiscovery, Information Protection) * Design and implement Microsoft Purview solutions to support data classification, labeling, retention, investigation, and governance requirements across enterprise environments * Perform technical health checks, discovery, and remediation for Purview deployments (audit, privileged access, policy configuration reviews) * Support proof of concept, deployment, integration, and post-implementation activities for Purview and adjacent Microsoft security and compliance technologies * Advise clients on data governance strategy, lifecycle management, compliance monitoring, and operating model improvements to strengthen security posture and reduce risk Tasks * 4+ years of experience in technical consulting, client problem-solving, solution architecture, or solution design for Microsoft Purview or Microsoft data governance and compliance technologies * 4+ years of hands-on experience implementing or operating Microsoft Purview capabilities (data classification, labeling, protection, eDiscovery, data loss prevention, or compliance reporting) * 4+ years of experience designing and implementing data governance or compliance controls across Microsoft environments, including application integrations * Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (as stated) or equivalent experience * Ability to travel up to 50% * Limited immigration sponsorship may be available Key requirements *
