Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this role you will guide clients on data protection and encryption strategies, including PKI lifecycle management, across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You will lead delivery efforts, advise on best practices, and stay ahead of emerging encryption technologies to strengthen client cyber postures. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and operate secure data protection solutions while maintaining project health and client satisfaction. This is a client-facing, impact-driven role at Deloitte’s Cyber Strategy & Transformation team. Compensation / Benefits * Act as SME and trusted advisor on data protection, encryption, and secure key management * Design, implement and operate encryption strategies across environments to protect sensitive data * Lead PKI deployment, certificate management, and health monitoring of certificate infrastructures * Drive day-to-day project execution, communicate with clients and leadership, and ensure high-quality work products * Manage project timelines, budgets, and on-time delivery; escalate as needed * Stay up-to-date on encryption tech trends (e.g., post-quantum crypto, confidential computing) and advise on new tools * Proactively evaluate and recommend tools/solutions to enhance data security * Support client engagements with strong communication, stakeholder management, and workshop facilitation Tasks * 5+ years in data protection and information security (data discovery/classification, data loss prevention, cloud security, encryption, CLM) * 5+ years with PKI concepts (certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM, key management) * 2+ years implementing various encryption technologies (PKI, TLS, data encryption) and cloud encryption concepts (BYOK, client/server-side) * 2+ years developing data protection strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with one or more data protection technologies and CLM platforms (AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert) * 2+ years experience with TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, and NIST-aligned practices; certificate discovery and renewal * 2+ years client-facing skills: requirements gathering, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, executive communication * 2+ years leading small teams/workstreams; producing client-ready deliverables * Ability to travel 25-50% * Professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM (preferred) Key requirements *
