Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this role you will serve as a subject matter expert in data protection and PKI, guiding clients on encryption and key management strategies. You will design, implement, and operate protective technologies across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, ensuring scalable certificate management. You’ll lead delivery on engagements, coordinate cross-functional teams, and keep clients aligned with evolving cryptography trends. This position offers the opportunity to shape secure data architectures for diverse industries within Deloitte’s Cyber practice. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to drive measurable improvements in cyber risk posture. Compensation / Benefits * Act as trusted advisor to evaluate data protection and encryption needs based on data risk * Design, implement and operate encryption strategies across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments * Oversee PKI lifecycle management, certificate health monitoring, and scalable certificate infrastructures * Lead client engagements with day-to-day execution, updates, and high-quality deliverables * Stay current on emerging encryption technologies and industry trends; recommend new tools and solutions * Support project management: timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications * Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant outputs * Engage in requirements gathering, workshop facilitation, and executive communication Tasks * 5+ years in data protection and information security * 5+ years with PKI concepts: certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM, key management, trust chains * 2+ years with encryption technologies (database/file/PKI/CLM/TLS) and cloud encryption concepts (BYOK, client/server) * 2+ years developing data protection strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with data protection technologies and CLM platforms * 2+ years experience with CLM platforms (AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert or similar) * 2+ years understanding TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, code signing, and NIST-aligned practices * 2+ years certificate discovery, inventory, automation, renewal, compliance monitoring * 2+ years client-facing skills: requirements gathering, stakeholder management, workshops * 2+ years leading small teams/workstreams and producing client-ready deliverables * Ability to travel 25-50% * Professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM are preferred * Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and modern data platforms Key requirements *
