Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this senior consultant role, you guide clients on data protection, encryption, and PKI strategy to reduce data risk across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You will design, deploy, and operate encryption and certificate management programs, while leading delivery and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes. You’ll stay ahead of encryption trends and advocate for new tools to strengthen client security postures. You join a cross-functional team helping clients transform their cyber programs and governance. Compensation / Benefits * Act as a subject matter expert on data protection, encryption, and secure key management for client engagements * Design, implement, and operate data protection solutions and PKI lifecycle management across environments * Lead delivery activities: drive execution, communicate with clients and leadership, and supervise teams to ensure quality work * Monitor encryption technologies and trends (e.g., post-quantum crypto, confidential computing) and recommend new tools * Support client engagements with project planning, risk assessment, and status reporting Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of data protection and information security experience * 5+ years with PKI concepts (certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM, key management) * 2+ years implementing encryption technologies (database/file PKI, TLS, CLM) and cloud encryption concepts (BYOK, client/server-side) * 2+ years developing data protection strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with one or more data protection technologies and CLM platforms (e.g., AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert) * 2+ years with cryptographic standards and protocols (TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, code signing, NIST-aligned) * 2+ years certificate discovery, inventory, automation, renewal, and compliance monitoring * 2+ years supporting strategy, architecture, roadmaps, and implementation workstreams * 2+ years integrating with F5, load balancers, WAFs, Kubernetes, API gateways, and cloud platforms * 2+ years client-facing skills: requirements gathering, stakeholder management, workshop facilitation, executive communication * 2+ years leading small teams/workstreams and delivering client-ready artifacts * Willingness to travel 25-50% * Professional certifications such as CISSP or CISM (preferred) Key requirements *
