Cyber Data Protection/PKI Specialist Senior Consultant

Experteer Overview In this role you will act as a trusted advisor on data protection and encryption, guiding clients through PKI design, implementation, and lifecycle management across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You will lead encryption strategy development, support secure key management, and ensure certificate health to minimize downtime. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, security-focused solutions and stay ahead of evolving cryptography trends. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with opportunities to shape cyber strategy and drive measurable risk reduction. Compensation / Benefits * Serve as SME and trusted advisor on data protection, encryption requirements, and secure key management * Design, implement and operate data protection and PKI solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments * Develop and lead encryption strategies and certificate management processes; monitor PKI health and prevent downtime * Drive project execution, communicate progress to clients and leadership, and ensure timely, on-budget delivery * Lead delivery teams to produce high-quality client deliverables and maintain project timelines * Stay current on encryption technologies (e.g., post-quantum cryptography, confidential computing) and industry trends * Evaluate new tools and solutions to enhance data security and protection programs * Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to align data protection with regulatory and risk requirements Tasks * 5+ years in data protection and information security (Data Discovery, Classification, Rights Management, DLP, Cloud Security) * 5+ years with PKI concepts: certificates, CAs, RA, CSR, OCSP, CRL, HSM, key management * 2+ years implementing encryption technologies and CLM; cloud encryption concepts (BYOK, client/server-side) * 2+ years developing data protection strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks * 2+ years hands-on experience with data protection technologies and CLM platforms (AppViewX, Venafi, Keyfactor, DigiCert) * 2+ years with cryptographic standards and protocols (TLS/SSL, SSH, S/MIME, code signing, NIST practices) * 2+ years certificate lifecycle management including discovery, renewal, and compliance monitoring * 2+ years integration knowledge across F5, load balancers, WAFs, Kubernetes, API gateways, cloud platforms * 2+ years client-facing skills (requirements gathering, workshops, executive communication) * 2+ years leading small teams/workstreams and delivering client-ready outputs * Willingness to travel 25-50% * Certifications such as CISSP or CISM are a plus * Limited immigration sponsorship may be available Key requirements *
