AI Engineer, Manager - Tax Transformation

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the design, development, deployment, and support of custom AI applications within the tax domain. You will manage a team of engineers, drive projects, and liaise with clients to ensure high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with Deloitte’s objectives. You’ll shape enterprise-grade Python applications and guide cross-functional delivery while mentoring junior developers. This is a hands-on leadership role at the intersection of tax services and AI. Compensation / Benefits * Define and enforce coding standards across projects * Conduct code reviews to ensure quality * Develop and maintain robust Python applications * Optimize performance and data handling for scalability * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions * Identify and resolve technical issues ensuring reliability * Create documentation for code, processes, and workflows * Mentor and guide junior developers * Manage day-to-day operations and stakeholder communications * Communicate with clients regularly * Provide guidance to the team on best practices and architecture Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field * 5+ years of Python development experience * Hands-on web development with FastAPI and Pydantic * Experience with asyncio for asynchronous/parallel programming * Agile experience and design pattern knowledge * Proficiency in .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web API, and SQL/NoSQL databases * Ability to travel up to 10% * Licensure or certifications related to CPA/Attorney/Enrolled Agent or listed technology certifications (AWS, CRISC, CISSP, SAFe, CSSLP, etc.) * Experience with LLMs and agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph) is preferred * Familiarity with Angular, MongoDB, NPM, and Azure DevOps Build/Release Key requirements * Hybrid work model (2-3 days in person) * Discretionary annual incentive program * Accommodations for disabilities * Professional development opportunities * Broad range of benefits * Deloitte culture and purpose
