Data Analyst Assistant

Alpine Business Consulting is looking for a Data Analyst Assistant to support our ongoing project with an Antwerp-based logistics client. In this entry-level role, you will work alongside our consultants to maintain the integrity of financial data within Enterprise Performance Management systems. The position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to complex international projects from your own workspace.

We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates. What You Will Do

• Organize and clean large datasets from logistics operations to ensure they are ready for financial consolidation.
• Assist consultants in verifying that intercompany eliminations are calculated correctly within the EPM software.
• Run daily data validation checks to compare system outputs against source files and spreadsheets.
• Help build and maintain basic reporting templates in Power BI to track key performance indicators for the client.
• Document system configuration steps so that client administrators can understand how their data flows.
• Support the testing phase of new system updates by identifying discrepancies in financial reports.
• Collaborate with the team through digital channels to resolve data entry errors or mapping issues.

• A basic understanding of accounting or finance principles, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas to organize data.
• Technical curiosity and an interest in learning how enterprise software handles complex financial rules.
• High attention to detail and a habit of double-checking work for accuracy.
• The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while staying in sync with a distributed team.
• Clear communication skills to explain findings or issues discovered during data reviews.
• Prior experience with data visualization tools or basic databases is helpful but not required for this level.
