Job description
The role of Infrastructure Director is a full-time role, ensuring the company is maximising its potential in the Infrastructure market and managing the Infrastructure Division. Infrastructure markets are considered to be Road, Rail, Ports and Airports but excludes High Security and HS2.
The company generally turns over around £7m within the Infrastructure Division and you will be expected to grow to £12m+ over the next 4-5 years.
You will be required to manage and motivate an existing team to be able to fulfil the budget requirements for the Division, as the market grows build a team to facilitate the growth., Working with the current Directors & support staff to ensure that we are aware of all contract opportunities in the Infrastructure sector. * Get to know the market, who are the large JV’s, Main Contractors and Sub-Contractors working in the Infrastructure arena. * Attend high level meetings, networking events and seminars, understand the initiatives and culture of major organisations from Network Rail to Highways England and the principles that filter through the Main Contractors as a consequence. * Oversee and/or prepare all quotes that are presented to clients, using the company standard format to satisfy margin requirements. * Manage team of 3-4 estimators and CAD designers to plan projects. * Overall responsibility of how the contracts are managed through a team of Contract Managers. * Manage team of 5-6 contract managers and 35-40 site-based personnel to ensure contracts are executed smoothly. * Ensure that we are working to industry-leading Health and Safety standards. * Ensuring that Contract mangers are efficient with Labour, Plant and materials, completing contracts on time and to budget. * Working with key suppliers to get best value on materials and plant.
* Oversee the commercial side of the Division, with the support of a commercial team. * Preparation of annual budget for division. * Ensure that monthly applications have been completed on time and capture all opportunities.
Requirements
Ability to lead, manage and motivate your team. * Ability to plan, implement and manage complex projects * Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritise and be organised. * Comfortable attending senior management meetings and seminars, interacting with customers and suppliers. * 5+ years managing contracts in the UK infrastructure industry. * Must demonstrate strong numeracy skills and have comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. * An engaging, enthusiastic and pleasant personality with a professional demeanour. * Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
