Job description

The Developer Experience team builds the tools, platforms, and workflows that thousands of Salesforce engineers rely on every day. We focus on code quality, owning the integration testing, code coverage, test-quality analysis, and root cause analysis that keep our codebase healthy at scale. We’re creating a new user experience that supercharges how engineers ship releases, so intuitive, well-designed UX is central to everything we build. We also own and operate the event and notification platform that powers release and CI/CD workflows across the company. Our mission is to make the highest-quality path the default one, and we’re reimagining that experience from the ground up with AI at its core

As an SMTS on the Developer Experience team, you will:

  • Build AI-powered tooling that raises code quality across the company, spanning integration testing, code coverage, test-quality analysis, and root cause analysis of test and build failures.
  • Build a new user experience that supercharges the release process, delivering a polished, intuitive interface that makes a complex workflow simple.
  • Develop and operate our event and notification platform, delivering reliable, event-driven messaging that keeps engineers and downstream services informed across release and CI/CD workflows.
  • Partner with product, design, and platform teams to identify the highest-friction moments in the developer workflow and remove them.
  • Build and operate scalable, reliable backend services that power these experiences for a large internal developer population.
  • Define metrics for code quality and tool effectiveness, and use them to drive iteration.

  • Champion engineering excellence across code quality, testing, observability, and a high bar for the experiences we ship.
  • Mentor other engineers and help shape the technical direction of the team.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience building and shipping production software.
  • Strong programming skills in one or more of Java, Python, Go, or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience using agentic AI tools and frameworks such as Claude, including writing harnesses, to work more productively as an engineer.
  • Experience building and operating backend services or developer-facing tools at scale.
  • Solid grounding in computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and API design.
  • A track record of owning ambiguous, high-impact technical problems end to end.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills., * Experience with code quality tooling such as integration testing frameworks, code coverage, test-quality analysis, or automated root cause analysis.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and cloud messaging (for example, SNS/SQS, Kafka, or similar pub/sub systems).
  • Experience building web front-end experiences and a strong eye for usability and design.
  • A genuine passion for developer experience and for making other engineers more effective.
