Server Software Engineer

A leader in digital media systems, this company are looking to transform their legacy Windows-based servers to a new Linux-based architecture, and are seeking a Server Software Engineer who can contribute expertise in this area. Your skills would help them deliver quality audio-visual experiences tailorable for a broad range of applications., * Updating the company’s server architecture to achieve higher performance and scalability whilst maintaining security and reliability. Contributing to design discussions, researching the latest tools and techniques, system modelling and analysis, troubleshooting, and assessing and optimising performance.

• Hands-on software engineering with .NET Core and JavaScript, implementing robust and well-designed server-side code, carrying out code reviews and ensuring software is well tested.
• Mentoring colleagues.

• A 1st or 2.1 in an applicable STEM subject from a well-respected university.
• Excellent server architecture design skills, good familiarity with Cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure, distributed systems architectures, networking, and security.
• Strong software engineering skills including JavaScript, databases, and REST APIs.

Bonus points for skills in .NET Core, ASP.NET, WCF, Web API, ADO.NET, LINQ, unit testing frameworks, DevOps tools, Continuous Integration with Gerrit or Jenkins.
