Job description

Industrious Recruitment are seeking a Field Service Deployment Engineer, providing specialist technical support for the deployment, upgrade and maintenance of IT systems supporting healthcare diagnostic equipment across customer sites.

This is a hands-on, field-based role where you’ll work directly with customers and internal technical teams to deliver technology upgrades and infrastructure projects, helping to keep critical laboratory systems running efficiently and securely.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be responsible for a range of technical deployment and support activities across our installed equipment base, including:

  • Carrying out Windows upgrades, security patching and system updates
  • Reimaging and configuring PCs and IT systems
  • Installing, replacing and commissioning PC hardware and peripherals
  • Installing and configuring software and applications
  • Carrying out data backup, migration and restoration
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues
  • Supporting network connectivity and resolving basic IP/networking issues
  • Validating systems following upgrades and installations
  • Working alongside Field Service Engineers, Technical Support and Product Management
  • Liaising directly with customers to ensure deployments are completed smoothly and with minimal disruption
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK as required

You’ll play an important role in ensuring the technology supporting healthcare laboratories remains reliable, secure and fit for purpose.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with a strong practical IT background who enjoys working in customer environments and getting hands-on with technology.

You’ll ideally have:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in 2nd Line IT Support, Field IT Support, Deployment or a similar technical role
  • Previous experience providing field-based IT support within customer environments
  • Strong experience with Windows operating systems, imaging, deployment and configuration
  • Hands-on experience installing, replacing and troubleshooting PC hardware
  • A good understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience with data backup, migration and restoration
  • Strong fault-finding and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a confident, professional approach with customers
  • The flexibility to travel regularly across the UK
