Job description

We are seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack Java) to join a Home Lending technology team responsible for enhancing and modernizing a mission-critical mortgage servicing platform. This role will support the continued development of an existing application focused on early mortgage resolution and customer assistance initiatives.

As a member of an Agile Scrum team, you will design, develop, and implement scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency through automation, configuration, and emerging AI-powered capabilities. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions while helping broaden technical knowledge across the team. Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain full stack applications using Java-based technologies.
Build and enhance scalable APIs and backend services using Spring Boot.
Develop solutions that improve business processes through automation and workflow optimization.
Contribute to the design and implementation of AI-driven features and decisioning capabilities.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while continuously improving application performance and reliability.
Promote engineering best practices, code quality, testing, and maintainability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong experience developing applications with Java within the last two years.
Hands-on experience building microservices and APIs using Spring Boot.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Devin, or Cursor.
Experience developing enterprise-scale applications in a financial services or banking environment.
Full stack development experience across both backend and frontend technologies.
Experience with application configuration, workflow automation, and complex business rules implementation.
Familiarity with mortgage lending, servicing, or home lending platforms.
