Job description
Under the general direction of the Digital Accessibility Program Manager, provides accessibility consultation, training, assessment, remediation support, and accommodation services across UC ANR.
Serves as the primary coordinator for employee accessibility accommodations and supports implementation of the UC ANR Digital Accessibility Program.
Works collaboratively with Human Resources, Information Technology, managers, employees, and content creators to identify and remove digital accessibility barriers and promote compliance with ADA Title II, Section 504, Section 508, WCAG 2.1 AA standards, and University accessibility requirements., 35% Accessibility Assessment & Remediation Support
- Conduct accessibility reviews of websites, documents, forms, PDFs, videos, and other digital content.
- Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing using industry-standard assessment tools.
- Evaluate accessibility conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA and applicable legal and policy requirements.
- Develop remediation recommendations and assist departments in prioritizing and addressing accessibility barriers.
- Validate remediation efforts and verify accessibility improvements through quality assurance testing.
- Provide backup support for accessibility reviews of third-party software, applications, and technology solutions.
20% Employee Accommodations & Accessibility Services
- Coordinate accessibility-related employee accommodation requests.
- Conduct accessibility assessments and needs analyses to identify barriers and accommodation options.
- Evaluate and recommend assistive technologies, accessibility software, adaptive equipment, and other accommodation solutions.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Information Technology, managers, employees, vendors, and service providers to support accommodation implementation.
- Document accommodation recommendations, implementation plans, and outcomes.
- Track accommodations and implementation status and support evaluation of accommodation effectiveness.
20% Accessibility Training & Outreach
- Develop and deliver accessibility training for staff, academics, and content creators.
- Develop and maintain accessibility guidance documents, job aids, checklists, templates, and training resources.
- Facilitate consultation sessions, office hours, and accessibility awareness presentations.
- Promote awareness of accessibility requirements, standards, and best practices throughout UC ANR.
15% Accessibility Consultation
- Serve as a resource to staff, academics, and business units.
- Provide guidance on WCAG compliance, accessible content creation, and digital accessibility best practices.
- Partner with content creators, technology teams, and business units to improve accessibility of digital content and services.
10% Program Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track program metrics, activities, and service outcomes.
- Assist with accessibility audits, reporting, and documentation.
- Support accessibility program initiatives, operational processes, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Monitor developments in accessibility standards, regulations, technologies, and best practices., * Must possess valid California Driver’s License to drive a County or University vehicle. Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability damage insurance on vehicle used is required. Reimbursement of job-related travel will be reimbursed according to University policies.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Broad knowledge & experience creating, testing, or remediating accessible documents, web content, multimedia, and digital communications.
- Demonstrated experience providing accessibility training, consultation, or support services.
- Thorough knowledge of accessibility standards, including ADA Title II, Section 504, Section 508, and WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Demonstrated knowledge of digital accessibility evaluation methods and remediation techniques.
Preferred Skills:
- IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
- Experience supporting workplace accommodations and assistive technology implementations.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and accessibility software.
- Experience supporting digital accessibility initiatives in higher education, government, or large enterprise environments.
- Experience reviewing Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates (VPATs), Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs), and third-party software accessibility documentation.

This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed.
The home department is IT Services. While this position normally is based in Davis, CA, this position is eligible for hybrid flexible work arrangements for applicants living in the State of California at this time. Please note that hybrid flexible work arrangements are subject to change by the University.
Pay Scale: $79,698.96/year to $111,937.68/year
