Job description

The Computer Technician I provides frontline technical support for district staff and students. This entry-level position focuses on customer service, troubleshooting basic technology issues, and supporting the day-to-day operation of district devices and systems under the guidance of senior IT staff., * Provide first-level technical support for district hardware, software, and network-related issues

  • Respond to service requests via help desk system, phone, and in person
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic issues involving computers, printers, Chromebooks, and other district devices
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment
  • Set up and support classroom and office technology equipment
  • Assist with user account setup, password resets, and access issues
  • Document all support requests, actions taken, and resolutions in the ticketing system
  • Escalate more complex issues to higher-level technical staff as needed
  • Assist with inventory management and tracking of technology equipment
  • Travel between district sites as needed to provide support
  • Follow district policies related to data security, acceptable use, and technology standards

  • Ability to listen, understand, and respond to user needs effectively
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems, operating systems, and common applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in a logical manner
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, * High school diploma or GED required
  • One (1) year of customer service experience or related field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations required
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license may be required, * Coursework, certification, or training in information technology
  • Experience in a school district or educational environment
  • Familiarity with help desk or ticketing systems

Working Conditions

  • Office and school-based environments
  • Frequent interaction with staff, students, and the public
  • May require lifting, carrying, and moving equipment up to 25-40 pounds
  • May require travel between school sites
