Job description
We’re looking for a practical, hands-on IT Hardware Technician to join our team in Blackpool. If you enjoy working with hardware, building systems, troubleshooting issues and getting equipment ready for deployment, this could be a great fit.
This role involves working with enterprise IT hardware including servers, storage, networking equipment, workstations and individual components. You’ll be testing, configuring and preparing systems so they are fully functional and ready to go.
It’s ideal for someone who already has around a year or more of hands-on hardware experience, whether that’s building PCs, working in a repair environment, or supporting hardware in a data centre or IT workshop.
What you’ll be doing
- Testing enterprise IT hardware to ensure everything is working correctly
- Installing and updating software and firmware
- Assembling and disassembling servers, workstations and components
- Checking hardware compatibility across different systems
- Configuring equipment to required specifications
- Working with servers, networking equipment, storage systems and components
- Using our custom ERP system to pick, book in and store equipment
- Keeping accurate records of testing and configuration work
- Maintaining a tidy and organised workspace
Requirements
- At least 1 year of hands-on IT hardware experience
- Examples include PC building, hardware repair, system integration or data centre work
- Good understanding of computer components and server hardware
- Comfortable installing software, firmware and system updates
- Good attention to detail
- Reliable and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Nice to have (not required)
- CompTIA A+, IT certifications or relevant qualifications
