We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO-replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

What You Will Do

  • Lead end to end development of top level CAD assemblies in CATIA facilitating team wide design iteration and release activities.
  • Direct ownership of top level vehicle CAD including definition of mechanical and electrical interfaces, skeletons, hardpoints, maintain master sections and reference views, kinematic sweeps of steering and suspension components, etc
  • Lead Cross-Functional Packaging Workstreams including development of subsystem control volumes and interfaces, mass optimization, packaging, manufacturability, and serviceability.
  • Lead Interference Detection and Resolution activities through frequent manual and automated interference checks. Manage interference resolution by tracking issue status and driving collaboration between subsystem engineering teams.
  • Orchestrate Vehicle Level Assembly Simulations to detect clearance, assembly flight path, tool access and serviceability issues.

Organize and Drive PLM Integration Activities. Manage top level CAD data lifecycle and audit subsystem lifecycle status. Create and develop top level vehicle BOM and manage handoff within PLM tools.

Requirements

  • Exceptional spatial reasoning and design creativity coupled with CATIA specific CAD best practices and tools
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills - you enjoy and thrive in an environment work working with wide range of engineers and stakeholders to solve problems and agree on consistent approaches and first principles in that problem solving
  • Broad technical knowledge in order to engage thoughtfully across the range of typical vehicle design technical disciplines: general spacial reasoning and graphical communication, structures, mechanism kinematics, manufacturing tooling approaches, thermal systems, electrical module and harness integration and more.
  • Expertise and track record in similar roles in industries such as automotive, robotics, aerospace
  • Strong experience working with contract manufacturers, including design release, documentation control, build readiness, on-site collaboration, and ramp-to-mass-production execution.
  • BS or higher in mechanical engineering from an accredited engineering program with emphasis on mechanical, machine, structural design fundamentals
