Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Lead Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. In this role, you will oversee the delivery of comprehensive desktop support services across our organization, ensuring optimal performance of hardware, software, and network systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a customer-focused approach to resolve complex issues efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team of support technicians, implement best practices, and contribute significantly to maintaining a robust IT infrastructure that supports our operational goals., * Lead and coordinate the desktop support team to deliver timely and effective technical assistance to end-users across various departments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues related to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
- Provide advanced support for operating systems including Windows (Windows 10/11), macOS, and Linux environments.
- Manage help desk systems to track, prioritize, and resolve customer support tickets with accuracy and professionalism.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network components such as LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), firewalls, DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, and network switches.
- Support Active Directory management tasks including user account creation, permissions management, and group policy implementation.
- Assist with software troubleshooting for applications like Microsoft Office Suite and other enterprise software; perform hardware upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software solutions.
- Conduct analysis of recurring issues to identify root causes and recommend improvements for system stability.
- Provide training or guidance to end-users on operating systems, security best practices, and new technology deployments.
Requirements
- Proven experience in desktop support roles with demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing support teams.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Windows support (Windows 10/11), macOS, Linux operating systems.
- Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, VPNs, firewalls.
- Proficiency in help desk systems for ticket management and customer service excellence.
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting-desktops, laptops, mobile devices-and equipment repairs or replacements.
- Familiarity with Active Directory management and IT infrastructure components such as Microsoft Windows Server environments.
- Ability to diagnose software issues related to operating systems and enterprise applications; perform network troubleshooting effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Strong analysis skills for problem identification and resolution; capable of working independently or leading a team under pressure.
- Knowledge of IT security principles including firewall configuration and network protection measures.
