GIS Technician - I

Seeking a GIS Mapping Technician with 1-2 years of experience to update, edit, and maintain geospatial data within a mapping system. This role supports utility system operations, requiring onsite work, data analysis, and occasional fieldwork., * Update and maintain GIS models for electric utility systems.

• Analyze geospatial data and generate custom maps, reports, and plots.
• Process work orders, as-built drawings, and field reports into GIS systems.
• Resolve data conflicts related to mapping, connectivity, and land issues.
• Perform manual or computer-aided drafting using tools like MicroStation or AutoCAD (preferred).
• Conduct occasional fieldwork (5-10%) and weekly print distribution rotations.
• Operate office equipment (printers, plotters, scanners) and assist with data filings.

Do you have a valid Driver’s License license?, Do you have experience in Windows?, * Experience: 1-2 years of GIS experience (academic or professional).

• Proficiency in updating and editing GIS systems (electric utilities experience preferred).
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office and Windows applications.
• Knowledge of mapping tools (MicroStation, AutoCAD is a plus).
• Valid driver’s license (fieldwork may require use of personal vehicle).
• Ability to work onsite daily for at least 8 weeks during initial training, with potential for hybrid schedule based on performance.

Additional Details:

• Weekly travel to sub-headquarters for print distribution is required.
• Union environment with supervisor oversight.
• Must be able to work at various client locations based on business needs.
