Job description
This is a contract role based in Bristol, offering the chance to contribute to cloud architecture and infrastructure delivery within a forward-thinking technology environment. You would be working alongside experienced engineers to design, implement and maintain cloud-native solutions, with exposure to enterprise-scale systems and the chance to develop deeper expertise in distributed cloud platforms., * Supporting the implementation and management of containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
- Assisting with CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform
- Collaborating with development teams to optimise microservices architecture and API-driven solutions
- Maintaining and troubleshooting cloud-based systems and supporting infrastructure as code practices
- Contributing to data pipeline implementation and ensuring data quality standards
- Documenting infrastructure decisions and best practices for team knowledge sharing, * The chance to work with modern cloud technologies and develop expertise in scalable infrastructure design
- Exposure to complex, enterprise-level distributed systems
- Collaborative team environment with opportunity to learn from experienced cloud architects
- Practical experience in infrastructure automation and DevOps practices
- Potential to progress toward more senior infrastructure or architecture roles
- Contract-based flexibility with a competitive daily rate of £500-600
Requirements
- Solid experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
- Working knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Proficiency with at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, Java)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong problem-solving approach and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Nice-to-have:
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or equivalent
- Experience with .NET, ASP.NET or Spring Boot frameworks
- Knowledge of data pipeline tools and practices
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging and observability solutions
