Platform Engineer

Roles of this type typically sit within organisations managing complex, distributed systems across cloud and on-premises environments. The work could involve collaborating across development, operations and architecture teams to build and maintain platforms that support microservices, APIs and containerised applications. You could contribute to improving deployment pipelines, infrastructure automation and system reliability while working with modern cloud technologies., * Contributing to the design and implementation of cloud platforms on Azure, AWS or GCP

• Supporting the deployment and operation of containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Collaborating on microservices architecture and API design
• Supporting system monitoring, performance optimisation and incident response
• Contributing to documentation and knowledge sharing across the platform team
• Assisting with infrastructure automation and scaling challenges

• Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Working knowledge of containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tooling
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code or scripting (Terraform, Bash, Python)
• Comfortable working in Linux and/or Windows environments
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative working style

Nice-to-have experience could include:

• SAP S/4HANA or SAP integration experience
• Data pipeline or data quality work
• Terraform, Ansible or similar automation frameworks
• Power BI or data visualisation tools
• Experience with F5, DMZ, or network infrastructure
