Job description

Roles of this type typically sit within infrastructure and cloud delivery teams, supporting the design, implementation and maintenance of platform services that enable development teams to deploy and run applications effectively. You could work with cloud platforms, containerisation, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tooling to improve reliability, scalability and developer experience. The work could involve collaborating across engineering teams, contributing to architectural decisions and helping to standardise platform practices across the organisation., * Contributing to the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure, APIs and microservices platforms

  • Supporting CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation using tools such as Terraform, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) to deploy, monitor and optimise application environments
  • Collaborating with development teams to understand requirements and improve platform reliability and performance
  • Maintaining infrastructure-as-code repositories and ensuring consistency across environments
  • Supporting troubleshooting and incident response for platform services
  • Contributing to documentation and knowledge-sharing across the team, Most roles of this type offer the following, dependent on the industry and seniority of the role:

Requirements

  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP)
  • Working knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tooling
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code approaches and tools such as Terraform
  • Familiarity with at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, .NET or similar)
  • Understanding of distributed systems, APIs and microservices architecture
  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows environments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with additional platforms or tools such as SAP S/4HANA, Power BI or monitoring solutions
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and network infrastructure (DMZ, F5)
  • Knowledge of data pipeline design or data quality practices
  • Certifications in cloud platforms or infrastructure tooling
