Job description
We are seeking a Systems Test Engineer II to join our Systems Test Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the testing and validation of advanced electromechanical and electronic systems through a variety of environmental, mechanical, electromagnetic, and reliability test activities. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure products meet performance, safety, and quality requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
What You’ll Do
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for system-level qualification and validation activities.
Coordinate with internal and external test facilities to schedule and support test execution.
Provide onsite oversight during testing activities and ensure tests are conducted according to established procedures.
Perform a variety of environmental and laboratory tests, including: Climatic testing, Vibration testing, Mechanical shock testing, Electromagnetic Effects (EME) testing, Bench testing of electronic systems, Safety and reliability testing
Collect, analyze, and interpret test data using engineering analysis tools.
Prepare detailed test reports and present findings to engineering and program stakeholders.
Troubleshoot test-related issues and support root cause investigations and failure analysis activities.
Support data collection, reduction, analysis, visualization, and presentation efforts.
Safely work with specialized test articles and hardware following established procedures and training requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to improve product performance and test methodologies.
Travel as required to support test activities and customer needs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience with engineering data analysis and technical problem-solving.
Proficiency with analytical and data processing tools such as: Microsoft Excel, MATLAB, Python/SciPy or similar data analysis tools.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to analyze complex technical data and generate clear, concise reports.
Willingness to work in laboratory and test environments, including hands-on testing activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following testing disciplines:
Environmental/Climatic Testing
Vibration Testing
Mechanical Shock Testing
Electromagnetic Effects (EME) Testing
Insensitive Munitions (IM) Testing
Experience operating test instrumentation such as:
Oscilloscopes
Digital Multimeters (DMMs)
Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ)
Other electronic test equipment
Knowledge of energetic systems, components, materials, or related testing methodologies.
Familiarity with applicable industry and military test standards, including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-331, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-2105, JOTP-052, JOTP-053
Experience working with commercial, government, or third-party test facilities supporting environmental, electromagnetic, or specialized testing programs.
