Job description

At LifeLine Ambulance Illinois, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and setting the standard for quality ambulance services. As a crucial member of our finance team, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cash Application Specialist to join our dynamic and growing organization. As a Cash Application Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity of our organization by accurately processing payments, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies in a timely and efficient manner., * Payment Processing: Post payments received via Electronic Funds Transfers (EFT), lockbox files, insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and manual checks or credit cards into the billing system.

  • Reconciliation: Balance daily cash batches to remittance advices and reconcile posted checks against actual bank deposits.
  • Adjustments & Denials: Process contractual adjustments, write-offs, and insurance denials in accordance with company policies and federal/state regulations.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identify and resolve overpayments, underpayments, and unidentified receipts. This includes researching misapplied payments and contacting payers to resolve application issues.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technical Proficiency?, Do you have a High school diploma or GED?, * Experience: 2+ years in Cash Application or Accounts Receivable with a track record of meeting closing KPIs.

  • Accounting Logic: A strong understanding of how cash applications impact the broader financial statement and the importance of a timely close process.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and strong typing skills.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage high transaction volumes while meeting rigid daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines.
  • Professionalism: A positive attitude with a high degree of accountability, flexibility, and the initiative to master new tasks.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to recognize A/R trends, multi-task, and solve complex billing problems independently.
