The ideal candidate would have the knowledge and experience to proactively solve future network problems, and manage business expectations when it comes to network performance.

This role will be mostly focused on project work. Some of the day to day responsibilities for the role will include:

Network Operations Support:

  • Cisco LAN/WAN technologies (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF), failover via multiple WAN providers
  • Layer 2 WAN (VPLS) and MPLS WAN environment. Utilization of broadband as failover for some sites
  • BGP Internet failover with multiple providers on ASN.
  • Cisco Nexus/Catalyst datacenter switching and Cisco Firewall (ASA and Firepower) with multiple services in HA design.
  • Palo Alto Firewalls and Palo Alto Global protect for remote access and IPSec VPN solutions
  • Cisco Wireless
  • Citrix ADC load balancers for troubleshooting and deploying new VIPs.

Engineering/Architectural Requests:

  • Configuring and deploying new Cisco or Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Configuring and deploying new switches and routers
  • Partner with Cisco and other vendors on roadmap strategies (VPN, SDWAN, new hardware)
  • Partner with other teams toward cloud integration (Azure)
  • Turn up new deployed WAN/Internet circuits
  • IPv6 edge dual stack integration
  • Migration from Cisco or Checkpoint to Palo Alto firewalls
  • Continue efforts to harmonize standards across the enterprise

Requirements

  • 1-2 Years Experience as a Help Desk or IT Support
  • 0-2 Years Experience as a Systems Admin
  • 0-2 Years Experience as a Network Engineer
  • Willing to travel

Preferred:

  • CCNA and/or CCNP
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting routing protocols
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting firewall rules and whitelists, * Help Desk or IT Support: 1 year (Preferred)
