- Provide remote payroll auditing, compliance guidance, and process oversight on an as-needed basis.
- Audit and verify that wage garnishments, child support orders, and tax levies are entered and calculated correctly in the system.
- Navigate and apply state-specific labor laws and regulations across CA, OR, AZ, NV, and WA to protect client operations.
- Support the review, troubleshooting, or configuration of payroll and HCM system data.
- Address and resolve payroll inquiries, risk mitigation, or client concerns virtually via phone, email, or video.
- Document payroll interactions, audit findings, and resolutions clearly.
- Follow payroll and HR best practices to ensure client compliance and mitigate legal risk.
Requirements
One Extra Consulting is seeking a knowledgeable Per Diem Payroll Auditor / HRIS Analyst for a highly flexible, project-based arrangement. This position is ideal for an experienced payroll or HRIS professional looking to keep their skills sharp, maintain a foot in the industry, or supplement their income with a micro-schedule (1 to 3 hours per week).
Experience in the senior living industry is highly preferred.

This position is fully remote but requires deep experience with multi-state laws, specifically CA, OR, AZ, NV, and WA, along with hands-on Paylocity expertise., * Proven experience as a Payroll Auditor, HRIS Analyst, Payroll Manager, or above.
- Deep working knowledge and 3+ years of hands-on experience with Paylocity (Required).
- Working knowledge and 3+ years of multi-state compliance and labor laws across CA, OR, AZ, NV, and WA (Required).
- 2+ years of experience in garnishment auditing and correct entry (Required).
- Exceptional consulting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical abilities with a meticulous eye for detail.
- Solid follow-through and ownership of tasks and client assignments.
- Pride in work quality and impeccable ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently with complete autonomy and manage a flexible workflow.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn and use virtual tools quickly.
Preferred:
- Experience with multiple payrolls and HCM systems beyond Paylocity (Highly Preferred).
- Previous experience in a fractional, consulting, per diem, or advisory role.
- Relevant payroll, HRIS, or accounting certifications are a plus., * Paylocity: 3 years (Required)
- Compliance and labor laws across CA, OR, AZ, NV, and WA: 3 years (Required)
