IT Support Technician - 1st Line Onsite

• We provide technical support and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• We install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
• We set up and manage user accounts and access permissions.
• We monitor and analyse network performance, including VPN, LAN, DNS, and firewalls.
• We collaborate with team members to resolve IT issues and implement solutions.
• We document and track support tickets using our ticketing system, Freshdesk.
• We assist with software installations and updates.
• We conduct regular system maintenance tasks such as backups and updates.
• We attend schools on a daily schedule and provide hands-on IT support and advice to our customers.
• We support school hardware including PCs, laptops, tablets, Wi-Fi, servers, backup systems, and projectors or interactive displays.
• We support software and cloud platforms including Azure, Office 365, Google Workspace, school MIS systems, Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMware, and other software.
• We provide face-to-face support on issues such as cyber security and data protection.

• We require a relevant Level 3 industry-specific qualification.
• We require demonstrable working knowledge of InTune.
• We require demonstrable experience with platforms such as Windows Server, Office 365, Google Workspace, Windows operating systems, Android, and iOS.
• We require a minimum of two years of experience in a First Line IT support role.
• We require strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• We require proficiency in computer hardware setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• We require knowledge of network protocols, VPNs, LANs, DNS, and firewalls.
• We require excellent communication skills to support users effectively and in line with our values and ethos.
• We require resilience, compassion, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• We require a methodical and well-organised approach.
• We require a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 penalty points and access to our own vehicle.
• We require the right to work in the UK.
• We require willingness to commute to the school site in Hitchin within one hour of SG4.
• Experience working in an education setting would be desirable.
• Experience working in an MSP would be desirable.
• Familiarity with a structured, fast-paced, professional working environment would be desirable.
