Job description

Blu Omega is seeking a Data Scientist to support a federal program focused on data analysis and intelligence. This role operates within an onsite environment and is responsible for analyzing large data sets, developing models, and delivering actionable insights. The position requires experience supporting large data environments, data quality assurance, and advanced analytics within a mission-driven setting., The program supports federal efforts to analyze critical financial and BSA-derived data to enhance national security and law enforcement capabilities., * Analyze large datasets to identify trends and insights

  • Develop and implement models and algorithms for data analysis
  • Perform data mapping, cleaning, and validation to ensure data integrity
  • Support research and delivery of analytic conclusions from financial and critical data sets
  • Utilize FinCEN tools such as BSA Search, Transaction Grid Search, and FinCEN Enterprise Analytics Environment for data analysis
  • Document and share code and analytic workflows
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making
  • Communicate analytical findings clearly to senior management

Requirements

  • Experience working with large data environments storing financial transactions or similar critical data sets
  • Expertise in Python, Jupyter Notebook, R, NumPy, Pandas, Sci-Kit Learn
  • Experience with entity resolution, data mapping, and data quality assurance
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and identify trends
  • Strong foundation in statistical methods
  • Experience in research and delivering analytic conclusions from large data sets
  • Ability to document and share code and models effectively
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, * Understanding of data derived from bank wire transfers, SWIFT, CHIPS, and BSA-related data such as SARs, CTRs, and 8300s
  • Experience with BSA analysis tools including BSA Search, Transaction Grid Search, and FinCEN Enterprise Analytics Environment
  • Ability to pair BSA data with open-source, financial, law enforcement, and classified data sources
  • Experience performing repeatable and well-documented data analysis processes
