Job description
Configure, optimize, and own the scheduling tools that keep patients moving through care.
As a Cadence Epic Analyst at Hummingbird, youâll be the technical driver behind scheduling configuration and demand management for our clients. Youâll work directly with our client teams and Epic IT counterparts to manage open tickets, support project work, and translate operational decisions into working Epic build. Your day is a mix of ticket triage, configuration work, client meetings, and contributing to cross-functional projects such as Fast Pass settings and Epic Scheduling Improvement initiatives.
This role is a good fit for someone who builds confidently in Epic, leads meetings with purpose, works through ambiguity without hand-holding, and earns trust with clients by consistently following through.
What Youâll Do
-
Review and work open tickets for our client teams, coordinating with the client and Epic IT to test and migrate changes to production.
-
Configure and maintain Epic scheduling tools including ticket generation rules, decision trees, Fast Pass, Ticket Pass, and waitlist automation.
-
Support configuration and optimization of provider-driven scheduling workflows for referrals and follow up orders
-
Maintain referral notifications, appointment request reminders, and communication workflows.
-
Create and monitor reports in Epic to support any of the above workflow responsibilities
-
Join operational meetings with client counterparts to provide updates on open tickets, in-flight projects, and metrics.
-
Contribute to project work across Comprehensive Scheduling and Intelligence Hub initiatives, translating decisions into Epic build and fixes.
-
Provide technical guidance to schedulers, clinic staff, and contact center teams as needed.
-
Lead problem-solving conversations with client managers, surfacing issues and driving toward resolution., We believe the best hiring conversations are real ones. Notes are welcome, and jotting things down during the call is completely fine. What we ask is that you donât use AI tools or similar assistance to generate your responses in real time. Weâre genuinely trying to get to know you: how you think, how you communicate, and what youâve experienced. That connection matters to us, and itâs hard to find when answers are scripted rather than interactive.
Weâre a team that makes healthcare more human. Weâd love to meet the person behind your application.
Expectations for Focus and Presence
-
To support patients and each other, this role requires your full attention during scheduled work hours. Our Outside Employment Policy doesnât allow overlapping work or âjob stacking,â so any outside work must happen fully outside your Hummingbird schedule.
-
We value connection, teamwork, and being present, which is what keeps our clients supported and our team effective. If thatâs what youâre looking for, youâll feel at home here. If youâre hoping to hold another job during the same hours, this job wonât be the best match.
Growth at Hummingbird
This role is a key part of our Application and Implementation team. Youâll build depth in Epic scheduling configuration, client partnership, and technical project delivery while working alongside experienced analysts and implementation leads.

-
2-4 years of experience as an Epic Cadence analyst, with deep knowledge of scheduling decision trees, core scheduling setup, and appointment configuration.
-
Active Epic Cadence certification; this is a firm requirement.
-
Working knowledge of Epic Referrals workflows; formal certification is not required but meaningful hands-on familiarity is.
-
Ability to translate operational requirements and client decisions into Epic build without step-by-step direction.
-
Comfort leading client-facing meetings with operational managers and clinic stakeholders.
-
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize across tickets, project work, and ad hoc requests.
-
Clear, direct communication style with both technical and non-technical audiences.
