Job description

We are currently looking for a Development Manager to join our Development/Fundraising team. The right person will identify with our core values of Advocacy, Family, Spiritual Development, Education, Mutual Respect, Dignity, Compassion, and Responsibility. With our mission and these values in mind, the role will be primarily responsible for managing the grant process for Boysville, Inc, to include applications, tracking, and researching new opportunities. Duties include:

  • Proven grant writing experience with a track record in achieving or exceeding annual goals for fundraising and grants through corporate and foundation giving and grant proposals
  • Demonstrated track record of success in increasing money raised through fundraising and grant awards
  • Successful grant writing experience is critical
  • Experience interacting with a wide variety of clientele (executive leadership, staff, visitors, and donors)
  • Experience working with external partners
  • Ability to meet deadlines, track, and monitor scheduling and planning activities
  • Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, make reasoned decisions, and multitask.
  • Finding funding opportunities for Boysville, Inc.
  • Research deadlines, and interpret and understanding of grant application guidelines and requirements
  • Understanding of the federal, state, local, and private funding landscape
  • Ability to write, edit, and proofread grant proposals
  • Ability to work effectively in and foster a team environment to develop and maintain confidence
  • Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather information
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Communications
  • Developing and distributing Christmas Appeal, Annual Report, and Newsletter
  • Create external communication campaigns
  • Designs campaigns to target the specific needs of Boysville, Inc.

Special Events

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute special events, including fundraisers, donor recognition, and community outreach programs
  • Work with staff and volunteers to ensure successful event logistics, setup, and breakdown
  • Oversee event promotion, registration, and guest communication
  • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to secure venues, catering, and supplies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for special event inquiries and issues
  • Assist Director of Fundraising and Grants in tasks related to on-campus events such as set up, dĂŠcor, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Do you have experience in Newsletters (communication methods)?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, * Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of three years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit communications, with a demonstrated record of success in securing funding
  • Certification in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit management is desirable
  • Experience working with government, foundation, and corporate grant processes
  • Proficiency with donor database systems and communication platforms is an asset
  • Strong analytical, research, and reporting skills
  • Must exhibit behavior that demonstrates cultural diversity and sensitivity (See Corporate Policy #2103)

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work extensively at a computer
  • Capacity to lift and transport materials or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds, as needed for events or presentations
  • Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to review documents, attend meetings, and communicate effectively with staff and partners
  • Mental stamina to handle multiple deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and focus on detailed tasks
  • Strong problem-solving skills and emotional resilience to manage stress and sensitive situations professionally
  • Ability to step backward smoothly and safely
  • Ability to side-step with control, twist at the waist, and shift direction quickly while maintaining balance

Compensation for this position depends on experience, with a range of $50,000 - $60,000 per year.

All applicants must be able to pass a background check per Texas Department of Family and Protective Services minimum standards (to include Texas DPS, Central Registry, and Nationwide FBI screening), a 10 Panel Drug Screen, and receive a TB test., * Grant proposal writing: 2 years (Required)
