Job description

A progressive, technology-driven school based in Colchester is looking for an IT Technician to bolster its internal IT operations. This role focuses on maintaining core infrastructure, managing user requests, and ensuring seamless day-to-day tech delivery.

Core Duties

Handle 1st and 2nd line support escalations through the ticketing platform and desktop interventions.
Diagnose and resolve Windows OS, M365 tenant, and local connectivity glitches.
Deploy, patch, and provision new hardware assets and software packages.
Contribute to upcoming cloud migrations, office tech moves, and infrastructure upgrades.
Monitor backup integrity, server health, and foundational network security parameters.
Document recurring technical issues and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.
Liaise with third-party vendors and internal departments on cross-functional IT initiatives.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of hands-on IT support background.
Solid operational knowledge of Windows environments and Microsoft 365 administration.
Familiarity with DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and basic switch/router troubleshooting.
Exceptional problem-solving mindset paired with clear, professional communication.
Capable of working autonomously while supporting wider team goals.
Driven to learn and expand technical competencies in a busy corporate setting.
